Medical Assistant, April 18, 2007 - May 11, 2012

Job Duties:

For the past four years I have been assigned to the main laboratory. During this time I was given extensive training on the laboratory equipment. This included; start-up and quality control procedures, calibration and troubleshooting procedures. In the winter of 2009 I started closing the lab throughout the week and became the lab lead on Saturdays. This job included receiving and processing, resulting and reporting the evening labs. This also provided me with the experience to resolve problems and answer questions from both the reference labs as well as the house staff. With that I quickly became the "go to guy" for lab questions and difficult draws.

Although, my main job was laboratory based, that wasn't the limit of my responsibilities at the clinic. I also became proficient with taking medical histories, vital signs as well as in performing venipunctures, injections and various diagnostic procedures and ancillary testing. My time spent as a float in the walk-in clinic and main floor helped me become proficient with patients scheduling, Rx refills, rooming patients and taking proper histories, wound care and irrigation and suture removal. Daily duties normally end with a complete cleaning and sanitation of used rooms and equipment and to ensure to the supplies were stocked for the morning staff.

I believe that I am the best fit for this position because I am a kind natured, flexible and hard worker with years of patient and customer service. I am ready and willing to begin a new journey with your office.
