Current Activities:

Director, Transition to Teaching Program, University of Missouri-St. Louis, St. Louis, MO.

January 1999-present. Coordinating all aspects of the project from development to implementation. The project is a state-wide initiative designed to address the critical shortage of educators. The program provides training and coursework to individuals who have degrees outside of education who are transitioning from other careers into public education. The program delivery system involves intensive summer institutes, distance learning coursework involving interactive television and web-based instruction, and mentoring. Participants work in public school classrooms as teachers during the three year program. The project is currently in the process of being replicated in seven other states and four foreign countries. Recently, the program started working with uncertified educators at international-American schools and provides them with the coursework needed to earn US certification.

Director of Psychoeducational Services, The Pupil Project, University of Missouri-St. Louis, St. Louis,

MO. September, 2001-present. The Pupil Project is a collaborative endeavor of the College of

Education and College of Optometry to provide assessment and therapeutic services to children and adults with learning related vision problems. Clients receive psychoeducational and optometric evaluations and then an educational plan is developed. Coordinated the development of the project as well as implementation.
