Visual Communicator

Over ten years of professional graphic design & web development experience working with clients large and small. Diverse skill set includes web user interface and web user experience design (UI/UX), front-end development (HTML/CSS), traditional graphic design, print design, branding, and web marketing. Excellent copy writing and brand development skills. I’m just starting to wade into the deeper end of the pool with JavaScript and PHP.

Lead Interactive Designer

Currently managing creative department and directing all visual design objectives for the company. Directed the design and front-end development of JiveRecords.com for Sony/BMG. Responsible for all higher-profile projects and clientele.

2008 to 2009: Blackbaud - Charleston, SC

Interactive Designer

Designed and developed several major web projects for globally recognized non-profits and organizations including Islamic Relief USA, GLSEN, and the ALS Association. Worked in a large creative team supporting general creative and business goals while working to improve internal processes and procedures.

2006 to 2008 : Core 3 Solutions - Birmingham, MI

Interactive Designer

Worked as the primary interactive designer and front-end developer for local and national clientele.

April 2005 to November 2005: Clear Channel Communications – Farmington Hills, MI

Assistant Web Designer (Contract)

Responsible for creating graphics for all Detroit Clear Channel radio station websites such as Channel 955, WJLB, and Sports Talk 1130AM. I also handled several print projects for the promotions department.

1998 to 2006: Net Express/Advent Telecom – Clinton Twp, MI

Designer / Developer

Developed and produced all marketing material for Net Express and the sister company Advent Telecom. Responsible for the design and maintenance of two corporate websites. Responsible for the design and production of client websites and print materials.

2001 to 2006: DaSilva Media – Clinton Twp, MI

Started a successful graphic design company from the ground up. Projects included the official .gov website for the City of Algonac. A complete corporate identity (logo, brochures, website, signage) for a successful financial management company, and countless logos, websites, and other projects of all scopes for a bevy of clients.

Tools I Use:

I design with Adobe Fireworks, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Flash. I develop with Dreamweaver and/or Coda. I’m a big fan of WordPress, and have extensive experience developing for and working with other content management systems. I’m equally proficient in both Mac and Windows platforms.
