Title: Flexible Product Architecture (FPA)
Description: The project involved designing and development of the Benefit Adjudication Model
(BAM), a DB2 and IMS DB based application, of a leading insurance provider in United States of America, WellPoint Inc.
Tools Used: The project was based on Mainframe platform and involved programming in languages like COBOL, IMS-DC, DB2, JCL and CICS. The major focus was on DB2 with all the applications containing large table manipulations and SQL operations.
Title: Consumer Dedicated Health Plan (CDHP)
Description: The project involved maintenance of the CDHP application, of a leading insurance provider in United States of America, WellPoint Inc.
Tools Used: The project was based on Mainframe platform and involved programming in languages like COBOL, DB2, JCL. The major focus was on testing with a lot of unit and integration testing involved. The project also involved minor enhancements in the existing model too.
Other Exposure: The project involved continuous report preparation and results verification, preparing scripts and official communication through email as well as telephone with clients in the USA. Also, enabled me to work in large teams and handling a few teams also. I was also a part of the Knowledge management team at Infosys which dealt with resource re use and minimizing the ‘reinventing the wheel’ problem amongst the projects.
Title: Socket Programming Project.
Description: The project involved simulating a self-organizing network of stand-alone nodes that discover each other and find the most efficient (which may be the shortest) route to communicate to one of two antennas. All communications takes place over TCP and UDP sockets in a client-server architecture. The project has 3 major phases: Bootstraping, Group Subscription and Content delivery. In Phases 1 and 2, all communications were through UDP sockets. In phase 3 however, communications take place over both TCP and UDP sockets.
Tools Used: C, C++ and Unix socket programming.
