RAN Engineer For Bell UMTS project my current job responsibilities are

Supervise contractors for RNC installation and ensure installation as per Huawei standards.

Preparation of RNC CIQ in co-ordination with customer.

RNC6900 commissioning and Integration.

Generate and verify RNC commissioning scripts.

Perform complete ATP testing on newly commissioned RNC.

Generate Iub planning for the RNC split.

Generation of NodeB rehoming scripts using CME and modifications according to customers network scenario.

Verification of re-parenting scripts in the lab environment.

Support customer to carry out reparenting activity and troubleshoot problems encountered in NodeB cutover.

Generate KPI reports based on templates prepared on M2000.

Monitor KPIs for the newly commissioned RNC.

Prepare MOPs for Huawei procedures and make modifications to the existing ones.

Prepare weekly RNC assessment report for customer and recommend actions for smooth and efficient running of RNCs/ NodeBs based on the report results.

Verify and prepare procedures for customer requests for network topology and scenario changes in lab environment.

Perform weekly analysis of alarms on the M2000 for all Bell RNCs, segregate them into maintenance and non-maintenance window and investigate the root cause of the alarms and make recommendations to avoid them in future.

Leading level II(Local TAC) team, providing support to the customer (Mobilink), having network of approx 350 BSCs & 13000 cells. Supporting & troubleshooting Alcatel BSS hardware (Software release B9 & B10) including BSC, BTS, TC, MFS (for GPRS).

OMCR ADMINISTRATION

System and Network administration of SUN V490 & V880 (Alcatel OMCR servers) including hardware and OS level troubleshooting in coordination with SUN Global support.

Handling all OMCR Admin issues including trouble shooting of Alcatel OMCR application.

Commissioning OMCR servers, HMIs & workstations as per ALU recommendations.

Commissioning NPA, RNO, Laser servers & clients.

Developed Perl scripts for automation of configuration and troubleshooting tasks in OMC.

Scheduling of shell scripts to run periodically for customized precautionary tasks.

TRACE ANALYSIS

Resolving QoS issues on BSC and Cell level like (Call drops, Preparation failures, RTC drops, Congestion, HO failures, Zero calls, low CSSR/HSR, high CDR etc.) and optimizing KPIs.

Analysis of BSSIM/RNIM traces and platform traces to find the root cause of problem.

Analyzing Q3 traces for troubleshooting any supervision issue either at OMC or NMC end.

Analyzing K12/K15 traces for root cause analysis in case of degradation in network.

BSS TROUBLESHOOTING

Logs and trace analysis at platform level for Alcatel BSS hardware and OMCR servers to find root cause.

Identify different types of network degradation/failures based on alarms, counters, indicators, logs, traces.

Configuration of Cisco Routers for BSC/ MFS connectivity with OMC. GPRS/EDGE & Gb configuration.

BSC outages, patch installations, migrations and software upgrades.

Creation, deletion and configuration of all BSS entities via OMCR as configuration of new sites, neighbors addition / deletion, expansion / reduction of sites, split / merge cell, cutover/ re-parenting of sites, Inter MSC, inter BSC migration, Inter OMC BSC / MFS migration etc. Performing MLUs.

Perform offline tests and commissioning of Alcatel A9100 Evolium and A9110 Evolution BTS.

Offline and online commissioning of Alcatel A9120 BSC.

Commissioning of Alcatel A9125 transcoder.

QoS OPTIMIZATION

Resolving QoS issues on BSC and cell level on daily basis such as preparation failures, SD/TCH congestion, low CSSR, high CDR,low HO Success, TCH assign failures etc.

Low Efficient TRX detection through shell scripts

Cell /BSC /Adjacency Parameter Tuning

Stats unavailability/ abnormal stats problem

A & Abis interface trace analysis using K-12/K-15 protocol analyzer.
