1992 to Present: Speech/Language Pathologist, Private Practice: I specialize in the evaluation and treatment of preschool through early elementary school children with Autism Spectrum Disorders, Motor Speech Disorders, Attention Deficit Disorder, Speech/Language Disorders. I provide consultation to school programs, and training and supervision to clinicians in working toward PROMPT certification
Spring Quarter 2002 to present: Clinical Supervisor: Center for Human Development and Disability, University of Washington. I supervise first and second year graduate students in the Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences as they participate in the diagnosis of children being evaluated by an interdisciplinary team. I am a guest lecturer on Pediatric Motor Speech Disorders: Diagnosis and Treatment .
Summer Quarter 2001: Clinical Supervisor, University of Washington Speech and Hearing Clinic, supervised graduate students in speech and language practicum.
1999 to 2006: Instructor: I taught advanced three-day workshops to experienced Speech/Language Pathologists in a moto- kinesthetic approach to motor speech disorders through the PROMPT Institute. I developed teaching videos and instructional materials on administration of the Verbal Motor Production Assessment of Children (VMPAC), and participated in Instructor Workshops to further the development of workshops, research, and materials related to motor-speech disorders.
1989 to 1992: Speech/Language Pathologist, Children's Hospital and Medical Center: Evaluated and provided therapy to outpatients being seen through the Neurodevelopmental Clinic and at Children's Bellevue.
1975 to 1984: Speech/Language Pathologist, Tukwila School District. I was responsible for hearing screening, evaluation and speech and language therapy for K-12 programs of special education and regular education students. I designed and implemented the first Preschool Communication Classroom and trained the special education teacher and classroom aide in the role of of speech, language and communication in the classroom curriculum. I was responsible for the supervision of student teaching interns in Speech/Language Pathology. I chaired the Committee for Gifted Education and organized and supervised the program for English as a Second Language.
I served on the Instructional Materials Council.
1974 to 1975 Outreach Speech/Language Pathologist, Tynset, Norway.
I participated as the first Speech/Language Pathologist on a
multi-disciplinary team located in a remote rural community.
Provided evaluation, therapy, parent/teacher education and referrals. I was accepted as a member of the Norwegian Speech and Language Association.
