PROJECTS

FINAL YEAR PROJECT: Developed Assistive Technology devices for persons with visual and

locomotors disabilities.

Developed smart walking cane (for persons having visual disabilities) which had anti-collision sensors

(Infra-red), microcontroller-programmed (PIC16F84) servos. Also developed smart wheel chairs (for

persons with locomotors disabilities) having automatic speed control, speech recognition software

(using MATLAB) for controlling and steering the wheel chair through voice commands by the user.

Designed motor driver circuits, microcontroller & sensor interfacing circuits for these devices.

(i) Smart Walking Cane:

The smart walking Cane had the capability to detect obstacles at a distance of 40 centimeters which

could be easily increased to 1 meter. On detection of obstacles a buzzer attached to the handle would go

off giving warning to the user.

(ii) Smart Wheel Chair:

The smart Wheel Chair had two d.c motors which were programmed through PIC 16F84 microcontoller

(Using MPLAB IDE in C and assembly language). The power source was a rechargeable battery module.

The wheel Chair was designed to be controlled through a joystick and also through Vocal commands of

the user using MATLAB speech recognition. It consisted of collision detection sensors, which protected it

from falling off from heights (= or > 10 centimeters) or collisions with any objects.

Submitted a technical project report for DRDO (Defense Research and Development

Organization) on QUAD-ROTOR, an unmanned aerial vehicle which was RF controlled and could

fly upto a height of 45 m and telecast live videos.

Presented three technical papers on SMART GRIDS for IEEE IMSEC Centre.

Submitted a research project on efficient utilization of electricity at the distribution end of the

grid, reduction in T&D losses, reducing the carbon footprint of the buildings and developing

intelligent electric devices along with power production from alternative energy sources.

ACHIEVEMENTS

Founder and Branch Chairman of IEEE IMS Engineering College Centre.

Led a team of 10 members to ROBOCON-2010, the largest robotics championship in Asia-Pacific

Region and became the first team from the University to have participated in the event.

Designed & developed one manual and two autonomous robots weighing 154 kgs .

Designed electronic systems for more than 16 robots with different capabilities and won various

intercollegiate robotics championships during three years time (2008--2010).

Designed & developed complex microcontroller interfacing circuits, motor driving & sensor

circuits.

Have delivered various Technical workshops for teaching Robotics and circuit designing at

various colleges through IEEE Delhi Centre.

Founder and President of ENVINCIBLES, the Society of Electrical and Electronics Engineers of

IMSEC.

Awarded Certificate of Merit by CBSE for being among the top 0.01% of the successful students

in Mathematics in the year 2004.

Awarded Certificate of Appreciation by the Govt. of Uttar Pradesh for outstanding academic

performance during 2004.
