Work Experience

Metabolic Research Center; Weight Loss Consultant; September 2008-February 2010

My duties included creating positive, lasting relationships with clients through daily consultations. Also, I assisted clients achieve their weight loss goals through education and motivation. I motivated clients to come into the center by daily phone calls, e-mails and handwritten letters. I educated clients through classes on how to manage nutrition, behaviors and emotional eating. I utilized various computer software including Counterpoint, Snagit and Microsoft Excel on a daily basis. I also studied marketing techniques on how to create awareness about the company and gain potential clients.

Auburn University; Administrative and public relations assistant to Dr. Chetan Sankar; October 2009-May 2010

My duties include creating awareness about a project called Geospatial Mapping the Coastal Communities of Alabama. The 2010 Campus Technology Innovator nominated project is a collaboration of Auburn University, the Alabama Department of Homeland Security, city officials of Baldwin County, Ala., the Economic Development Administration and the utility companies of Alabama. My duties also include transcribing meetings and setting appointments between project partners. I also create awareness about the signing of Memorandums of Agreement between project partners through press releases. I am currently working on creating a Web site and a social media account to inform residents of Alabama about the benefits of this project.

The Auburn Plainsman; Account Executive; February 2010-May 2010

The Auburn Plainsman is Auburn University's award-winning, student oriented newspaper. For this position, I was accountable for the marketing and selling of print and online advertising. I encouraged buyers to purchase advertising by going out in the community and meeting with them face-to-face. For online media accounts, I promoted selling the company's product to increase a company's search engine optimization. The clientele I mainly worked with were involved in restaurants, hotels, and real estate. My position involved educating clients on the benefits of advertising to their target public, Auburn University students.
