Kenneth Wilson
I am interested in microbial biogeography and diversity. The following questions are of
greatest interest to me: (1) If the thesis that all microbes are everywhere is true, why are
there millions of different species instead of a few hundred? (2) When does genetic drift
result in a new species of microbe. (3) What environmental factors are the biggest
drivers for speciation?
I am currently assisting with culturing and identification of fungal isolates from soils
collected at high altitudes.
