I am a Board Certified Pediatrician with 23 years of experience who voluntarily surrendered license in 2002 due to medical disability. During my career I was a Partner in a very active Pediatric Office. In addition to my clinical duties I was from time to time responsible for managing the day to day affairs of the office, purchasing supplies, co-managing an office staff of approximately 5 to 7 employees. I was also involved in billing, quality control issues and scheduling of staff and assigning and defining their duties. I regularly reviewed charts for completeness and accuracy with the utmost of care.
During the last 5 years of my medical career I was Associate Director of Pediatrics at a Hospital in Brooklyn. From a basically non existent service I successfully created and managed a clinic and private practice for the institution as well as a pediatric ward. I managed the daily duties of 5 employees (Pediatric House Officers) under my supervision and was responsible for assigning and defining duties and maintaining quality control. I was also responsible for billing for the private practice, supervising my private duty nurse, and helping schedule patients. I actively pursued quality control reviewing charts on a regular and routine basis for completeness and accuracy.
