SUMMARY
I am an effective, devoted, and enthusiastic educator with over 18 years of experience at the middle and elementary school level in the Boston Public School system. I set high standards for all students and strive to instill a love for learning that will last a lifetime. I build effective parent relationships and community partnerships to promote and strengthen education as a vital opportunity that open doors for our young people. I am an effective leader with exceptional organizational and communication skills and possess diverse leadership experience in program management, curriculum development, professional development and training and building administration support.
LEADERSHIP
Lead/Mentor Teacher, Timilty Middle School, Spring 2002 to present
In addition to successfully mentoring and tutoring pregnant teenagers and illiterate adults and organizing/managing a mentoring program for high school students through my community organizations, I have also helped bridge the gap between new and veteran teachers through the BPS mentoring program. As a Lead Teacher provide staff support and instructional leadership for early career teachers, inclusive of observing, advising, assessing, problem solving, and offering a wide range of support and encouragement during the mentee's transitional period.
English Language Arts Teacher Leader, Fall 2002 - 2004
As an active member of school based committees have taken the leadership role in various initiatives. I have effectively worked with bilingual and/or special education teachers, piloted a learning disability inclusion model and executed a variety of literacy activities such as scary story sleepovers, all night read-a-thons, culminating theatrical productions as well as spearheaded the full implementation of the A+ program curriculum in every sixth grade class.

Worked with colleagues and administrators to help build leadership capacity within the school. Developed
effective school practices around instruction, school climate, community involvement and professional
development. Part of an instructional leadership team (ILT) responsible for modeling demonstration lessons

Part of a network of teacher leaders involved with inquiry based research and learning
which involved collaborative coaching and learning methods. Reviewed and approved
literature, facilitated reading workshops for the implementation of the, then new, BPS

Several opportunities afforded me the participation on core selection committees, designing performance tasks to engage students in a quest for learning. Summer Transition Coordinator, Timilty Middle School, Summer 2002 - 2004
Responsible for supervising and managing a staff of 18 teachers while overseeing the educational process of 150 students. Maintained accurate records for student attendance and academic progress. Responsible for maintaining and submitting payroll and attendance records for staff. Coordinated summer transition information meetings for parents and communicated via mail, telephone and in person. Attended meetings and submitted all required documents in a timely fashion
Coordinator Girl’s Middle School Leadership Conference, Spring 2002 – 2004
Organized, managed and supervised 20/25 girls’ participation in
an annual leadership conference. Maintained communication with parents, students and
program director throughout the process. Responsible for overseeing the final project
