Freelance/self-employed clients include:

P ossibilityU (Freeport, ME), an online educational consultant service o ering coaching and

assistance with the college admission process. I designed and developed a completely new

consumer acquisition site, and I continue to work with the other members of the

development team on changes and new features in the member site as well.

Aurora Linnea (Portland, ME), a writer with a strong and distinctive visual identity. Other

writing-oriented sites tend to mimic the appearance of words on plain paper, but this client

wanted a maximalist approach. I developed, using PHP, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript, a

graphics-intensive showcase site whose scope is still expanding.

Navigating the Real World (Portland, ME), a nonpro t o ering career and life advice for

high school and college students. I designed and developed a WordPress-based website to

showcase the many video interviews the organization has amassed with students, parents,

employers and others.

Grace Church School (New York, NY), a private preschool. Created a WordPress theme

from scratch, precisely following Photoshop mockups from a designer. Also developed a

system for gathering information from parents of current and prospective students, and for

manipulating and re-displaying the collected data within the WordPress environment.

Candray Pet Care Center (Candia, NH), a veterinary practice and pet grooming and

boarding center. I am creating a WordPress-based informational site with general

information, photographs, customer testimonials, and calendar of events that can be

updated easily by the client.

Village Books (Tivoli, NY), an independent bookstore. Overhaul of static information page,

creating a more modern and pleasant presentation for basic store info.

Redesigning and re-coding Stories the World Should Hear More About, a sub-site of the

UN News Centre (http://www.un.org/news), in order to make it more modern, elegant,

maintainable and accessible. e new site is written in PHP 5 and MySQL, using WordPress as

a core CMS.

I was responsible for everyday maintenance and updating of the UN News Centre website,

including creating news graphics, posting news articles written by the writing sta, and laying

out and coding new pages and features.

Other accomplishments include the creation of designs (to be followed by other developers)

for the Department of Public Information site and for a future version of the UN site itself.
