PROJECT CONTROLS MANAGER/PROJECT MANAGER

Project Control / Capital Projects / Customer Relations, Support / SHE / Construction Management / CPM Scheduling / Risk Management / QA / Cost Control / Forecasting / Negotiations / Contracts / Scope, Change Management / Estimating / Productivity Cost & Schedule / Budgets / CGMP

Skilled end-to-end EPCS (Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Qualification) Project Manager in pharmaceutical, chemical, industrial and aerospace/defense industry segments. Strong record of containing costs, streamlining engineering/construction operations and adhering to budget constraints and timelines. I can easily contribute by:

Implementing cost/budget forecasting to control project commitments

Delivering demanding projects ahead of schedule and under budget

Developing and submitting bid packages to successfully compete for projects

Identifying project challenges and creating workable solutions before they arise

Known as an out-front leader with in-depth technical knowledge and high personal drive, I have managed budgets to $125M and staff to 50. I earned my BS in Business from the University of South Carolina. I completed Lockheed`s prestigious fast-track-to-management leadership development program. My PMP certification is pending final evaluations.

SELECTED ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Saved $500K on reactor replacement project. Solvay reactor replacements were running 30 days, costing $20K/day in lost production time. Assumed project lead and committed to seven-day cycle. Developed detailed flow plan and scope of work. Hired new contractor. Completed replacement in five days and noticeably under budget.

Accelerated Emission Control Project, avoiding EPA fines. EPCS client project to meet EPA regulations was two months behind schedule. Established comprehensive recovery plan to install condenser, chiller, transformer and piping. Completed install ahead of mandated deadline and under budget, enabling facility to avoid penalties.

Rescued Lockheed construction project. While constructing advanced rocket motors facility for the Space Shuttle, Congress cut $30M from program. Evaluated means to adjust forecast budget and continue project. Successfully de-scoped facility functionality, meeting production requirements and maintaining project cash flows.

Led on-time commissioning of Roche Carolina process units. Construction of three multi-purpose process units were behind schedule. Requested by Roche to prepare commissioning schedules and meet new production milestone dates. Worked with process management teams to meet original deadline and begin live production.

Turned around Lockheed missile production line. Delivery of missile components and support equipment was inefficient, causing production delays. Determined supply chain process was operating in crisis mode without an organized flow plan. Restructured entire process, ensuring timely deliveries and cutting production stoppages 45%.
