My research interests span over several topics in mobile computing. Broadly, I am inter-

ested in exploring new research opportunities by combining machine learning techniques

with mobile systems. More speci cally, my work involves two directions.
Context Aware Computing: Applying machine learning techniques to enable smart
applications that can understand both the environment and user s behavior by collabo-
ratively distilling information from multiple sensing dimentions (vision, audio, motion).
System Optimization: My work also investigates how mobile systems can be im-
proved to support future applications under resource constraints (bandwidth, energy).
To demonstrate these opportunities I have designed, implemented and analyzed various
system prototypes on di erent mobile platforms.
