Immersion program designed to support the counter-insurgency mission by building long-lasting, positive relationships
with Afghan Government officials and Afghan population while developing Afghanistan capacity. Completed six month
training in Dari language, counter-insurgency, and Afghan culture.
USACE Capacity Development Team Chief - Kabul, Afghanistan
Responsible for $500,000 capacity development program, supporting the development of a sustainable private
construction industry and Afghanistan government agencies.
Designed, implemented and served as instructor for Project Management training program for the construction
departments of three Afghanistan Ministries.
Managed USACE Afghan First program, promoting the local procurement of goods and services from Afghanistan
in order to support localized economic development. Conducted outreach events reaching over 600 Afghan
construction firms.
Facilitated Construction Contract workshop with US Department of Commerce Commercial Law Development
Program, training 50 companies in contract law and dispute resolution.
Transitioned USACE sponsored OSHA and Scheduling training to Afghan Builder s Association, a private industry
non-profit group.

Responsible for $35 million construction program consisting of 23 projects in Badakhshan province.
Increased construction placement 28% in four months through direct engagement with local stakeholders and
Afghan government officials.
Conducted small business conference for Provincial companies, directly resulting in 10 contracts being awarded
with local contractor involvement, saving the government an estimated $1.7 million.
