Experience
Department of Mathematics, University of Utah Salt Lake City, UT
May 2009 May 2010
SAS labs and Statistical Inference Instructor
Designed class coursework: homework, examinations, projects. Introduced Virtual Network Computing
(VNC) to allow student remote connection to local desktops environments. Introduced a cross platform
syntax highlighter editor for SAS. Updated class module information to accommodate for newer book
version, Desktop Environment and datasets. Instructed methods for faster programming. Demonstrated
annotated output for the SAS statistical package.
August 2008 April 2009
Teacher Assistant in Calculus I and Calculus II
Coordinated problem sessions, tutoring hours. Motivated students through the proposal of challenging
problems in a class of approximately 150 students. Initiated the interest of using mathematical software,
specifically Maple and proposed applied and challenging problems during the sessions. Used WebWork
as tool for online grading, updating content weekly.
Researcher January 2008- May 2008
Worked on a mathematical biology thesis titled Percolation of Neuronal Activity on the Epileptic Brain
under the supervision of Dr. Peter Roper from the Math Department at the University of Utah.
Developed and tested MATLAB codes simulating simplified neural networks.
May 2007 August 2007
World Trade Center Utah (WTCUT) Salt Lake City, UT
Summer Intern
Designed the original WTCUT s website using HTML and CSS code.
Remodeled approximately 80% of the website and increased end-user ability by adding pictures, Google
calendars, maps, video and dynamical content.
