Successfully started and managed an enterprise data warehouse project anda
development team for Intermountain Health Care, an integrated healthcare
organization with 24 hospitals, 75 clinics, a health plan division and a
physician division. Started and grew a pilot project into the
Enterprise Data Warehouse with over 800 desktops querying the data warehouse.
The data warehouse included integrated financial data, clinical data, claims
data, patient satisfaction data and health needs assessment data as well as a
customized Web browser-based query and reporting system. The Web-enabled data
warehouse and quality tracking system was selected as the co-winner of the
1997 Computerworld Smithsonian Awards.
Tasks:
-Managed the enterprise data warehouse project and its development team
-Worked closely with physicians, nurses, quality improvement teams, senior
management to define decision support requirements and translate requirements
to data warehouse technical design
-Architected the Web-enabled enterprise data warehouse on IBM SP2 with
Oracle7.3
-Designed and developed data extraction and transformation programs for
casemix data, claims data and clinical data from multiple transaction systems
