significant contribution using my strong background in Applied and
Mathematical Statistics as well as Computational techniques.
EDUCATION
MS,
Applied Statistics (Anticipated April 1997) Bowling Green State
University,
OH. Major
GPA:
4.0 / 4.0 Overall GPA : 3.9 / 4.0
M.Sc, Mathematical Statistics, Calcutta University,
India, 1994. B.Sc, Statistics (Honors), Calcutta University,
India, 1992.
SKILLS Proficient in large data handling, analyzing, modeling and
smoothing through different statistical techniques. Experience in
handling both financial and clinical experimental data. Solid
understanding in the areas Regression Analysis, Design of Experiments,
Survey Methods and Techniques, Data Analysis and Multivariate Methods.
Excellent computer programming skill in SAS and S. Proficient in using
several statistical packages - SAS, SPSS, Minitab, Systat, S-plus,
Lindo. Extensive experience with Base SAS software, SAS / GRAPH, SAS
/SQL, SAS / AF, SAS / ACCESS, SAS/ IML, SAS/ STAT, SAS /ETS, and
S-plus in several projects. Also comfortable -MS-DOS, UNIX, Windows
working environments.
Outstanding communication skill as well as leadership skill. Well
conversed in Applied Statistics and Mathematics, which helped me in
developing a good interaction skill with the clients.
WORK
Graduate Research Assistant
( 01 / 1997 - present). Dept. Of
Applied EXPERIENCE Statistics, Bowling Green State University
.
Currently doing several computationally intensive applied research
projects.
Graduate Teaching Assistant
(08/1995 - 12/1996), Bowling Green State
University. Teach and grade elementary statistical methods.
Graduate Teaching Assistant, University of Alberta, Canada, 1994-95.
Gained valuable experience in teaching undergraduate statistics
classes independently.
Statistical Consultant, Statistical Consulting Center, University of
Alberta, Canada, 1994-95. Responsible for SAS programming, statistical
data analysis and statistical interpretation for client's projects.
SELECTED Gained valuable experience from a project work in bachelors
degree PROJECT where I conducted a survey related to the health
condition of the people EXPERIENCE of Calcutta, India in wetland areas
and used baseline study for that data set. Coded in SAS.
I studied robustness of a censored regression model (Tobin's model),
which are very useful in analyzing the financial data, in my M.Sc
degree project. Coded in SAS.
Involved in a summer project, with Cancer Research Society of Canada,
1995, in which I used multivariate diagnostic modeling technique for
Alzheimer disease data with Spline method of smoothing technique.
Coded S-Plus and S.
Currently involved in a research project with Dr. Arthur Yeh, Dept. of
Applied Statistics and OR, Bowling Green State University; We are
developing a new 'Robust Process Capability Index'- which will be very
useful for manufacturing industry's quality control practice. Coded in
S-plus and S.
I am involved in another project recently with Dr. Edsel Pena, Dept.
of Mathematics and Statistics, and Dr. Carol Heckman, Dept of
Biological Sc., Bowling Green State University; we are trying to get a
diagnostic multivariate model for the cancerous cell with respect to
its size and shape. Coded in SAS.
In another project with Dr. Gabor Szekely, Dept. of Mathematics and
Statistics, Bowling Green State University; we are developing a new
test for checking Multivariate normality- which will be much more
easier than the prevailing ones. Coded in SAS.
Also, a lot of projects in areas like Regression Analysis, Design Of
Experiments, Discrete Data Analysis, Multivariate Methods. All of
these are coded in SAS.
