Press Assistant ll
Material Handler/Press Assistant for about 2 years before becoming Assistant Area Lead. Assisted in overseeing the 28 Automated Bundlers connected to the 7 Printing Presses in Building 10. During this time I helped train new hires, aided in improving our production processes, managed resources (both product and personnel), helped maintain inventory and tracked it's progress from Press into Finishing. During my time at Quad Graphics I also learned to operate several machines and was able to do preventive maintenance, Lock Out Tag Out procedures, trouble shoot, and complete simple repairs on them. I also held fork lift and first responder certifications.
Due to some jobs being cut a few years back, I was moved back to Press. I then operated a pair of Automated Bundlers and was also a Rolltender on my assigned Press. I was part of a crew responsible for cleaning, quality control, machine maintenance, reading and understanding various job related documents and task specific requirements. I was responsible for using job specific computer based programs for job set-up and resource management(paper rolls, ink, pallets, waste management, etc.). The job did require 12 hour rotating shifts with lots of bending, and lifting up 75 pounds continuously throughout the shift.
