Develop, implement, and initiate project start up duties for the direction, performance, and execution of environmental remediation services for Department of Defense and US Army Corp of Engineers. Provide leadership and direction in overseeing performance of 22 solid waste management units, regulatory permits and project coordination across diverse functional areas including client liaison, project management, engineering, procurement, subcontracts, and overall construction.

As Senior Site Manager, responsibilities included budgeting and scheduling staff, meeting contractual requirements, formulating work plan supplements, informing clients of expenditures, progress, problems, and recommended solutions. REMEDIATION SITE MANAGER / CONSTRUCTION MANAGER

USACE FORMALLY UTILIZED SUPERFUND RADIOLOGICAL ASSESSMENT PROGRAM (FUSRAP) ($750 MILLION)

CERCLA SHATTUCK SUPERFUND SITE; DENVER COLORADO ($48 MILLION)

As Remediation Site Manager for numerous projects contracted with the USACE under the Omaha District, FUSRAP responsibilities included the management and development of contract documents, pricing proposals, work plans, specifications, completion reports, as well as the execution of all field project activities associated with vertical steel construction of remediation containment structures, demolition of engineered cover system, removal of radioactive monolith materials and coordination of rail car shipments to achieve transportation and disposal goals. I functioned as the primary point of contact for all project related activities for the USEPA, USACE, Shaw Program Management, superintendents, and subcontractors. Additional responsibilities included direct authority during vertical construction of seven steel containment structures. Innovative mining of the solidified waste cell, remediating underlying contaminated soils, conveying waste through enclosure tunnel and loading 1500 railcars within an enclosed structure. A total of nine mining structure relocations were executed to remediate the 7 acre site while maintaining 100% enclosure to minimize environmental impacts to the local community. During construction and relocation activities work force and subcontractors personnel exceeded 150 craft workers. Responsible for advising Project Managers of production progress, project expenditures, potential problems, recommended solutions, managing project change and directing efforts in 11 contract modifications, 11 new pricing proposals and development of new budgets to meet client expectations.

HIGHLIGHTS:

* Recognized for project delivery and safety excellence with the 2005 USACE Commander's Safety Award (USACE Omaha NE District), the 2004 Shaw Presidents and the 2002 Vice Presidents Award for Safety achievements while realizing over 100,000 man-hours without a lost time accident or incident.

* Successfully refined and innovative enclosed mining techniques for indoor mining and remediation procedures to advance project schedules. The Shattuck Superfund Site was highlighted by the USEPA and State of Colorado during an international visit by the French NUCLEAR REGULATORY body and the U.S. Technical Center for Excellence in Washington DC.

* Successfully negotiated and managed eleven prime contract modification, four firm fixed subcontracts and all local procurements to erect seven steel structures, connected by architectural fabric, driven by hydraulic winches atop a emerging rail system balanced overtop of underlying excavations by hydraulically controlled frames on each of the 5 mining structures. The independent steel loadout structure was equipped with a steel-beam fall protection system to expedite railcar shipments while eliminating fall hazards during T&D operations.
