source-channel coding, statistical signal processing, channels with state, compressed sensing
WORK EXPERIENCE
Graduate Research Assistant, The University of Texas at Austin, (Jun 2007 - present)
Research topics include reduced reference image and video quality assessment algorithms, sub-
jective quality assessment, natural scene statistics in multicamera images, multiterminal rate
distortion theory, joint source channel coding in sensor networks, channels with state, compres-
sive sensing.
Graduate Research Assistant, The University of Texas at Austin, (Sep 2007 - May 2010)
Worked with AT&T Research Laboratories, Austin in performing quality assessment studies
for 2D and 3D MPEG and H.264 compressed videos. Developed software for automatic digit
recognition in a lip sync measurement device and plotting routines for Dolby and Motorola
audio error measurement devices.
Graduate Research Assistant, The University of Texas at Austin, (Jun 2007 - Aug 2007)
Worked with The Boeing Company in creating a database of videos su ering from distortions
due to H.264 compression and wireless transmission errors. Conducted a subjective study to
nd out packet loss rates that can be tolerated by an average viewer.
Teaching Assistant, The University of Texas at Austin, (Sep 2006 - May 2007)
Assisted students in Real Time DSP class in Fall 2006 and Spring 2007. Involved in conducting
lab sessions, delivering recitations, maintaining the course website and grading assignments.
Intern, Analog Devices (I) Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore, India, (Jan 2006 - Jun 2006)
Synthesized a CAD tool to automatically design opamps meeting priority based speci cations.
Intern, Central Electronics Engineering Research Institute, Chennai, (May 2004 - Jul 2004)
Classi ed external defects in citrus fruits based on the images using pattern recognition. Studied
the use of wavelet transforms in feature extraction.
