WORK EXPERIENCE

Graduate Research Assistant, The University of Texas at Austin, (Jun 2007 - present)

Research topics include reduced reference image and video quality assessment algorithms, sub-

jective quality assessment, natural scene statistics in multicamera images, multiterminal rate

distortion theory, joint source channel coding in sensor networks, channels with state, compres-

sive sensing.

Graduate Research Assistant, The University of Texas at Austin, (Sep 2007 - May 2010)

Worked with AT&T Research Laboratories, Austin in performing quality assessment studies

for 2D and 3D MPEG and H.264 compressed videos. Developed software for automatic digit

recognition in a lip sync measurement device and plotting routines for Dolby and Motorola

audio error measurement devices.

Graduate Research Assistant, The University of Texas at Austin, (Jun 2007 - Aug 2007)

Worked with The Boeing Company in creating a database of videos su ering from distortions

due to H.264 compression and wireless transmission errors. Conducted a subjective study to

nd out packet loss rates that can be tolerated by an average viewer.

Teaching Assistant, The University of Texas at Austin, (Sep 2006 - May 2007)

Assisted students in Real Time DSP class in Fall 2006 and Spring 2007. Involved in conducting

lab sessions, delivering recitations, maintaining the course website and grading assignments.

Synthesized a CAD tool to automatically design opamps meeting priority based speci cations.

Intern, Central Electronics Engineering Research Institute, Chennai, (May 2004 - Jul 2004)

Classi ed external defects in citrus fruits based on the images using pattern recognition. Studied

the use of wavelet transforms in feature extraction.

ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENTS

Winner of the Chancellor s Silver Medal awarded to the second best student in a batch

of around 800 at BITS, Pilani, India.

Ranked 1st in the discipline of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at BITS, Pilani for

the batch 2002-2006.

Awarded the merit scholarship of the Central Board of Secondary Education at the result

of All India Senior School Examination (A.I.S.S.C.E) - 2002.
