Description :

This System is a multi-tier application with java Applet used as the front-

end that interacts with Mapper servlet running inside the java web server that in turn

interacts with the Rating engine and gets the policy premium values calculated. The

request is the generation of Base Premium, Total Premium values of a homeowner policy for

one location or a multi location. All the input data is converted as a vector and an xml

file is generated and parsed and sent to Rating Engine. The Rating.asp file takes the XML

file and Excel file as arguments and executes a VBA macro, which does the underlying

Premium calculations and returns a stream, which is converted back to the Wins Data Vector

and stored in the Oracle database based upon the Endorsments, Credits, Surcharges etc., of

a policy.The calculated premium values are displayed back to the client.

Responsibilities :

Involved in the complete Rating module from the stage of taking the input data from the

Java client in the form of a Vector, generating xml file and making URL connection to the

ASP file by passing the xml and Excel file as parameters and getting the premium values

calculated from the Excel spreadsheet.

Created an XML file using DOM and SAX parsers for the input data to be sent to the ASP

file.

Involved in Writing Rating.asp file using Visual Interdev, which does the job of

creating an object of the Excel application and passing the XML file to the

Inputcollection VBA macro.

Used Vbscript as the Scripting language for Interaction between Web Browser and Web

Server

Responsible for writing and executing stored procedures in PL/SQL on Oracle 7.3 for

checking the Endorsments records Premium values.

Also involved in writing the VBA macro that does the total premium calculations by

mapping the input data to the spreadsheet and generates an output stream that is sent back

to the client.

Also involved in creating an output xml file and parsing the input stream and finally

sending the updated data back to the mapper.

Description : AT&T Electronic Ordering System (EO) is a web based application that

interacts with AT&T Frame Relay provisioning systems located inside the AT&T firewall. It

provides AT&T Frame Relay customers with a set of features allowing them to place new

orders, modify existing orders, and check order status via the Internet. AT&T customers

access the EO FR/ATM application via a link in the AT&T Interactive Advantage (IA) home

page. IA provides a single point of entry for AT&T customers to access multiple AT&T web

based applications. The AT&T work center accesses EO FR/ATM application via a given URL.

IA authorizes the user and redirects the users to one of the pages like Frame Relay, ATM

or IP provisioning system based on the user input.

Responsibilities :

Designed and developed the modules involved in the creation of Frame Relay/ATM orders

for New Acquisition.These modules include the design and development of the applets used

as the web pages and the servlets that communicate with the back-end processes.

The communication between the servlets and the back-end processes involve in creation,

deletion and modification of orders.

Responsible for writing stored procedures and database triggers in PL/SQL on Oracle

8.0.

Responsible in testing these database objects in UT and IT environments.

AMPS is used for planning promotional events and the procedures for populating the

distribution, entering DPI shipment information, entering events; and modifying,

validating, saving, and posting promotion plans. It is divided into write checks, clear

deductions, plan new product initiatives, review category objectives modules.

Account Managers of Unilever usually use this system and take care of planning different

promotional events and executes them. Write checks for a payee associated with particular

events and post deductions for event details.

Responsibilities :

produced, power used etc., in the Oracle server. The operating parameters are obtained

from the SPP location using data logger supplied by third party vendors. ODBC was used to

interact with the Oracle database to retrieve information for user requests. The

information thus obtained is shown to the user both in tabular and graphical formats. The

user can also generate reports with the obtained information or modify the operating

parameters and set them in the oracle database.
