Project Description: The Human Services Reporting System (HSRS) is a

data collection system for social service and mental health clients,

the services they receive, and the funds expended. HSRS collects

client specific data from county agencies either through direct entry

to an on-line terminal or through computer communications from local

computers to the state mainframe. The HSRS data is stored in IMS

databases. The HSRS Year 2000 project will expand all the date fields

in the IMS data bases to include the century.

Size: 5 Role: Identification of differences between OS/VS COBOL and

COBOL/370, creating specifications, coding programs in REXX, unit

testing, integration testing, test review. Project Description: This

is a Language Migration project from OS/VS COBOL to COBOL/370 using

REXX as a tool. The tool development is based on the language

difference between the two versions of COBOL. The tool is sharpened to

instrument the original source code to the converted code performing

equivalent action. There are some grey areas where manual action is

required. The tool development has been done on IBM ES 9672.

2) Project: New Interface To Dallas System Client: Wellcome Company

Limited, Hong Kong Period: March '97 - April '97 Hardware: IBM ES/9672

received from the onsite counterpart, coding programs (both root

modules & sub) according to the specification, code review, unit

testing, integration testing, test review. Project Description:

Wellcome Company Limited is a subsidiary of Dairy Farm International.

Wellcome owns and operates one of the largest supermarket chains in

Hong Kong, with more than 200 stores. Presently Wellcome has an

application package for their Warehouse System (WHS), which runs on a

Hitachi mainframe. Although this package is a standard product from

Dallas Systems Corporation, it has been customized by Wellcome to suit

their information system. The WHS has an interface with the following

applications, which also run on mainframe: Purchase Order

System(POS), Stores Order System(SOS), and Post Billing

System(PBS).

Wellcome has now decided to move these applications from mainframe to

UNIX during next few years. As a first step to this transition,

Wellcome has decided to replace existing Dallas WHS package with the

UNIX version of Dallas package. As the Warehouse system has interfaces

with POS, SOS, and PBS (they will be referred to Host System) new

interfaces are required to be designed and developed to transfer data

between host systems and the New Dallas System (NDS).

3) Project: Capital Impairment System Client: CS FIRST BOSTON BANK,

included preparation of Specifications for the FMG Report, Coding

Description: The objective of the Capital Impairment System of CS

First Boston Bank is to generate daily & monthly reports called FMG &

Cluster reports. This report represents the Financial Haircut (Minimum

Balance) amount for different Financial Products of DURATION CSFB. The

Products are all classified under different heads. Each head consists

of various levels. The levels of reporting has to be determined by the

online programs which are written in CICS, COBOL, or DB2. Depending

upon the level of reporting the FMG & Cluster reports are printed.

4) Project: Integrated Notes Project Client: Mercedes Benz Credit

Corporation

(MBCC), USA Period: September '96 - November '96 Hardware:

IBM

-ES/ 9672 Languages: COBOL II, JCL, MAP/OPEN CLIENT, CICS Software:

VSAM, DB2 Team Size: 10 Role: Low Level Design (Program specification

preparation, MAP design, SQL preparation), Coding, Code Walk Through,

Project Description: MBCC is keeping its customer contact notes in

both in MAINFRAME as VSAM files, and in SYBASE as tables. Integrated

Notes Project had the following objectives: Provide access to SYBASE

tables to mainframe users, Provide archiving of notes from SYBASE to

mainframe tapes, and Move mainframe notes to SYBASE tables.

5) Project: CROESO DATA MIGRATION Client: South Western Electricity

Board (SWEB), UK Period: April '96 - September '96 Languages:

of Programs according to the Specifications, Testing and Review of

various COBOL/DB2 programs Project Description: The project involved

conversion of data from a database (given as COBOL files) in the old

legacy system to DB2 tables in the new CROESO system. The project

produces load files for the DB2 tables, which can be used to insert

project has some applications on TELON and FOCUS. TMS also has

Electronic Data Interface with various customer systems. Automated

Waybilling System (AWS) is a subsystem of TMS. AWS satisfies the

Waybilling requirements of CSX Transportation. AWS basically takes

care of various types of waybills which contain business critical

information. AWS receives this data from other sub-systems. It can

also create waybills by itself. AWS interacts with several subsystems

to manage critical information and cooperates with them in running the

business in a cost effective and efficient manner. Bill of Lading

(BOL) is also a subsystem of TMS. The BOL subsystem does the crucial

job of feeding the AWS with the waybill information from customers and

other rail carrier for waybill creation and rating
