Performance Evaluation of a New Medium Access Control Protocol for

Future Wireless Multimedia Networks based on ATM Description of

Research:

We are going to present a MAC sublayer for next-generation

multiservices PCS based on ATM. This wireless ATM network could

support a mix of B-ISDN services including CBR, VBR and packet data

transport. The proper method of cell transmission also will be

investigated.

University of London Description of Research: A new generation of fast

photodetectors based on ITO/n-GaAs was successfully fabricated and

characterised. It is shown that ITO could be used with GaAs to

fabricate highly efficient Schottky diodes, which could be used as a

high speed photodetector for future optical communications.
