Michigan State University,
East Lansing, Michigan.
Thesis topic: A new approach to the optimal nesting of irregular 2-
dimensional geometry on irregular stock.Bachelor of Mechanical
Engineering, August 1993
.
Bombay University, Sardar Patel College of Engineering,
Bombay, India.
Project: Design & Fabrication of a Microprocessor controlled Robotic
Arm.
PROFESSIONAL SKILLS
LanguagesC & C++, Java, Basic, Fortran,
HTML.

MS Visual C++ 4.0, Borland C++ 4.5; Java 1.1, 1.0.2;
AutoCAD R12 & 13; AutoCAD ARX and ADS programming.Platforms & OSPC -
MS Windows NT-4.0, NT-3.51, 95, 3.11, 3.1, DOS; Sun SPARC - Solaris,
UNIX System 5; HP - HPUX.
EXPERIENCE
August 1995
to present A. H. Case Center for Computer-Aided Engineering
and Manufacturing, Michigan State University.
Graduate Research Assistant.
* Developing a new methodology for the optimal nesting/packing of
irregular 2-dimensional geometry on irregular stock pieces (coded in
C * Developing a Java based GUI for the GALOPPs software for
genetic algorithms developed by the Case Center. * Ported a UNIX based
automated factory-layout application to the AutoCAD (MS-Windows NT)
environment with GUI components using the AutoCAD Development System,
AutoCAD Runtime Extension (ADS/ARX) coded in C/C++ and the AutoCAD
Dialog Control Language (DCL).
March 1995
to July 1995Computer Aided Manufacturing Laboratory, Indian
Institute of Technology
- Bombay (IIT-B), India.
Research Engineer
.
* Designed utility functions for a software application overlaying the
AutoCAD-12 environment for the automated nesting of 2D parts for
optical and CNC flame cutting and shearing. * Coded the program in the
ANSI C++ programming language and seamlessly integrated it with the
AutoCAD environment through the ADS application programming interface.
* Designed and coded GUI elements in the AutoCAD DCL. * Tested and
implemented the software as a part of the project team.
August 1993
to February 1995ONIDA (Mirc Electronics Ltd.), Bombay,
India.
Executive Engineer, Division for Research and Development.
* Trained in a variety of design and development activities such as
cabinet and part design, mold design, CNC machining, plastic injection
machines, fixture design and out-sourcing for production. * Member of
a cross-functional team that designed and developed a 25" CTV set and
a 14" B/W TV set for Indian conditions; handled cabinet modifications,
speaker panels and meshes, logo and control panel units. * Involved in
converting R&D documentation and procedures to conform with the ISO
9000 specifications. * Provided engineering support for production.
* Supported a variety of audio developments such as speaker
development, design of jigs/fixtures for production and speaker
cabinet design.
