I am a college graduate seeking my first job in the field of my major. I am eager to gain actual laboratory experience in a true work setting, outside of the school environment. I am an extremely hard worker and will be a tremendous asset to whoever chooses to give me an opportunity to prove my worth.

LABORATORY EXPERIENCE

The extent of my laboratory experience comes from courses that I had taken at Rutgers University. Throughout all my courses I have gained a great general understanding of laboratory safety and procedure. More specific experiences include:

General Chemistry Laboratory (2006, 2008)

Gained experience separating chemical solutions into liquid and solid phases using centrifugation.

Gained experience transferring chemical solutions into and out of beakers, flasks, test tube, etc. using graduated cylinders, pipettes (Pasteur, volumetric and graduated), etc.

Gained experience with titration of acids with bases.

Gained experience with spectroscopy.

Foundation of Biology Laboratory (2006)

Gained experience using sodium dodecyl sulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis to separate proteins.

Gained experience using biological pipettes (positive displacement pipettes).

Organic Chemistry Laboratory (2008)

Gained experience in product recovery, removal of solvents from a sample, using a rotary evaporator (rotovap).

Developmental Biology Laboratory (2008)

Gained more experience with SDS-PAGE.

Gained experience with microscopy and using dissecting tools while dissecting a seahorse embryo under a compound microscope.

Mammalian Physiology Laboratory (2008)

Gained experience in hematocrit determination capturing blood (from a sample) in a capillary tube and then centrifuging the blood sample.
