Graduate Research Assistant, University of Texas; Prof. J. W. Keto,
advisor. Experimental research in laserassisted reactions in rare gas/
halogen gas mixtures, excitedstate lifetimes and collisional
deactivation of rare gas mixtures, and twophoton spectroscopy of
molecular chlorine. Analyzed product state distributions following the
rare gas/halogen laserassisted reaction using numerical simulation of
rare gas halide (excimer) emission spectra. Incorporated
informationtheoretic data analysis techniques, including maximum
entropy description of energy disposal in laserassisted reactive
collisions. Developed Monte Carlo simulation model of reaction
dynamics for the laser assisted reactive collision. Developed data
acquisition and analysis software. Summer 1989present.

included construction of an optoisolator, including digital and
highcurrent analog electronics to synchronize pulsed operation to a
Qswitched YAG laser; various electronic repair, CAD, and custom
machine shop projects.
