Diabetic Screening and Education 2005-2006
Interdisciplinary Diabetes Clinic
Worked with the colleges of Pharmacy and Optometry to offer services to diabetic clients
in the community. Services offered were comprehensive eye examinations, evaluation of all
patient medications, and personalized education on diet, nutrition, exercise, skin and
foot care. It was my role to educate clients on their condition and make sure they
understood by administering a pre and post test. My responsibilities also included doing a
thorough foot examination and finger stick tests to monitor cholesterol levels and
hemoglobin A1c.

Hope House Free Medical Clinic
Worked along side physicians, social workers, pharmacist, and spiritual counselors to
provide care at little or no cost to the uninsured population of Mecosta County. My role
was to assess patients and report pertinent assessment findings to the physician or
whoever else the information would pertain to.
