Summary: GEMS implemented the extranet in a way that allows members of a project team to
post documents on the site and automatically notify everyone on a certain list or within a
particular rights category that a document has been posted or updated. GEMS used Microsoft
Content Management Server to redesign and manage its corporate Internet site and to create
and manage its intranet site.
It's also the place they can go to do their timesheets, fill out expense reports, and
launch e-mail, office applications like Microsoft Word, Excel. GEMS phone directory, which
was previously paper based, is now also on the site, and it is searchable by name and
skill sets.
Microsoft Content Management Server handles the intranet site structure and templates for
the traditional intranet portion of the site. Content is published both in document
format, and as rich Web content for company announcements and policy. SharePoint Portal
Server search provides access to aggregate content from the file system and other
information stores.

Summary: GEMS Inc. has tested the Mobile Information Server through an internal pilot
program that will enable requests from WAP enabled wireless devices to arrive through a

Project: U S WEST now QWEST is a telephone company and provides Telephone services for 14
states in USA. These 14 states are divided in to three regions namely, EASTERN, CENTRAL
and WESTERN regions. The Billing System for the Central Region is called Central Records
Information System, CCRIS in short. This billing system is again divided in to many
modules and one of the modules is the Service Order Correction System. When a customer
calls U S WEST for some service, a service order is raised and it is through the service
orders the customer records are updated on the main database which in turn goes for
billing and other process. This project is to maintain the Service Order module of CCRIS.
Responsibilities:
Analysis and Design of Project Requirements.
Involved in coding, testing and reviews.
Actively involved in SUB SYSTEM or STRING testing.
Involved in implementation phase by monitoring the system for performance and
functionality.
Creation of VSAM datasets and creation of cards to update VSAM datasets to load DB2
tables, changes to these VSAM datasets and tables can be due to TARIFF changes, increase
