Cable Splicing Technician

Responsible for repairing and maintaining residential and business land lines. I locate the point of the trouble and I dig to repair the damage caused by storms or other utility companies. I am in charge of sending off damaged tools and material to be repaired and inventorying and ordering supplies for my crew. I am assigned to fix the problems that others can't, if there is an irate customer or a repeating problem I am sought out to fix it. I fix exposed wires, lines running on the ground and damage to the Verizon plant. I hang drops, remove drops fix aerial problems using both ladders and a bucket truck. I am in charge of my crew when the supervisor isn't there. I am authorized to deal directly with contractors, scheduling them and supervising thier work.

Located damage on buried service wires for Bell Atlantic. Replaced buried service wire with trenchers. I became a crew chief after 60 days. I was let go because I was in an accident and couldn't walk unassisted for a year. When I regained mobility I was hired by Verizon.
