Senior Technical Project: Staying Alive. Currently our emergency services are limited to a call to 911 and depending on our situation that may not be possible. So to alleviate this problem we created a heart rate monitor using a peizo-electric sensor. Once the heart rate goes above set standards a microcontroller will trigger GPS and GSM modules which will notify loved ones, friends and the emergency authorities. This help signal will: dial 911, send SMS, send emails and send your GPS coordinates. The project won the Bronze Medal Award at RCC’s Technology Showcase.
