2004 - Present Innovative Signal Analysis, Richardson, TX

Team Lead

* Redesigned and implemented a new fresh infrastructure for both the development classified and unclassified environments. Responsibilities included management, expansion, and enhancement of the Data Centers including power and server rack space requirements, server placement, package installation, console services, environmental

* Ported the existing fielded systems to Red Hat 5 using the IBM Blade technology and HP 585 servers.

* Designed offline backup system for the all environments. Server vendors include SUN, HP, IBM and Compaq.

* Instrumental in getting the classified SCIF re-accredited. This allowed our classified environments to continue development.

* Duties included program management and Systems, Networking and Database administration duties for some of the company`s largest accounts: Budget Truck Rental, La Quinta, Burger King and National Car Rental.

* Was instrumental in several customer relocations to Perot`s Plano facilities, doing system architecture and project migration planning. Also was heavily involved with off-shore care coordination.

* Also was heavily involved with mentoring junior level administration support. Setup internal UNIX administration classes for architecture training.

* Solely responsible for all hardware, software and system administration maintenance duties the Encore (Gould) family computer systems in the Advanced Systems Department.

* Responsible for the installation, networking, system administration and software maintenance of the UNIX based operating systems (Solaris, SunOS, IRIX, HPUX, OSF1, and UNICOSmk) with their associated peripherals, including Cray's T3E and Sun's E10000 supercomputers.

* Duties include monitoring the servers' activities, NIS, NIS+, DNS, Automounter, NFS and tuning system parameters.

* Responsibilities also included design, hardware and software planning, in-house training and lecturing, along with the implementation of new projects. This included translating user functional requirements into program specifications and documentation.

* Solely responsible for all activities at one on Encore's largest accounts, E-Systems (now Raytheon Systems Company).

* Duties encompassed hardware/software support with all system development phases, including final implementation. Additional responsibilities entailed Encore's ancillary maintenance contracts which expanded throughout the United States. Contracts and in-house repair involved Encore, Silicon Graphics, Sun workstations and Personal Computer equipment. Certified system level administration duties included the DOS, MPX and UNIX environments.

1979 - 1984 Comtech Communications Corporation, Dallas, TX

Regional Telecommunication Specialist/District Manager

* Directly responsible for all technical activity within the southern thirteen state region. Activities included field engineering support, customer network analysis and training.

* Duties included opening a regional support office in Dallas along with hiring and training the field engineering staff.

1979 - 1983 Storage Technology Corporation, Houston, TX

Senior Field Engineer

* Responsible for installing, supervising and accomplishing both preventative and corrective maintenance of nineteen Private Line Concentrators and five tape and disk subsystems at fifteen customer locations in the Houston/Galveston area.

* Directly interfaced with the customers to resolve disk and tape incompatibilities between the different series devices.

Data Systems Technician

While serving in the military, I received several system administration and hardware maintenance courses encompassing several vendors like Encore, Dec, Sun, Cray and Silicon Graphics. Also, I attended the Naval Computer Systems and Data Processing Schools, 58 weeks, Mare Island, CA, graduated top 5%.

Responsibilities included maintenance and repair of high speed general purpose digital computers, associated peripherals and digital air traffic control display systems. Maintenance duty assignments included Fleet Training Center, Dam Neck, Virginia Beach, Virginia; program test and evaluation analyst at Naval Underwater Systems Center, New Port, Rhode Island; and a digital air traffic control display system supervisor aboard the USS Norton Sound (AVM-1) home ported at Port Hueneme, California.
