New first-year learning community that examines the composition and consumption of

narratives using multiple theoretical perspectives on identity. Played a leadership role

in

designing the course, focusing on establishing core theoretical concepts, developing

assignments based on scholarship of teaching and learning research, and integration of

technology, including the use of the PebblePad system across the whole Cornerstones

curriculum.

NCLC 110: Community of Learners (8 credits) Fall 2007, Fall 2008

Intensive first-year learning community integrating writing, psychology, and information

technology. Modernized the technology curriculum and spearheaded the development of

more systematic writing instruction. Offered technology -related professional development

workshops for faculty team members.

NCLC 140: Self as Citizen (8 credits) Spring 2006, Spring 2007

Intensive first-year learning community integrating political science, sociology,

literature,

conservation studies, and information technology. Redesigned the end -of-year portfolio
