Provided technical leadership, architecture, implementation, and integration of
mobile, desktop, and online technical solutions during all phases of the
software development lifecycle for commercial clients, including:
Integration of Siebel and data quality software using COM technology on Windows
NT to correct, standardize, and resolve duplicate records within Siebel with
mobile synchronization support. Analysis and design produced requirements and
design specification using UML. Development produced COM interfaces using C++,
STL, and ATL implementing advanced technologies such as the Microsoft Task
Scheduler and ActiveX Scripting APIs.
The improvement and replacement of the logging functionality for a global
vehicle communication system in real time. Logging for the system was critical
and used to bill customers based on connectivity times and speed. The solution
produced a requirements and design specification using UML, and a reliable
logging system using Java, ADO, XML, and SQL Server.
The use of advanced Microsoft technologies to automate custom application and
information management across hierarchical networks with complete rollback and
recovery. The solution produced a design specification using UML. Development
produced an NT service and MTS package of COM components written with C++, STL,
and ATL implementing advanced technologies such as the ActiveX Scripting APIs,
Crypto API, Cabinet SDK, cyclic redundancy checking, NTFS file mapping, COM,
SQL Server, and MTS.
A software product providing machine diagnostics, parts catalogs, online
technical documentation, and customer support information for dealership
technicians, managers, and sales representatives with complete mobile ability
and synchronization. The solution was implemented using C++, MFC, COM, ODBC,
SGML, and SQL Server.

Contributed to the design and development of a corporate Intranet providing
internal data management and business-to-business transactions, including
inquiries and invoicing, with support for different browsers on multiple
platforms. The solution was implemented using Internet Information Server,
Netscape LiveWire, ASP, JavaScript, VB Script, HTML, COM, and ODBC.
1992
-1997: Computer Sciences CorporationSoftware Engineer Analyst
Provided technical leadership, analysis, and implementation support on the
AEGIS Optical Technology Project for the U.S. Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft
Division (NAWC-AD). The project is an effort to replace paper driven systems in
the U.S. Navy, and contributions included:
Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM) presentation software for
equipment training and maintenance, including the Radio Communications System
(RCS) IETM. The project won 1st place for outstanding government software at
Windows World 1992, and was later used in advertisement campaigns by Microsoft.
Development included graphics display, data import, a graphics tool for hot
zones generation, database interfaces, interfaces to play animations, advanced
GUI controls, navigational linking, and animations created from scratch.
Developed using Rational Rose, SGML, C, C++, Windows Platform SDK, MFC, Visual
Basic, ODBC, Multimedia Viewer SDK, Multimedia Control Interface, SQL Server,
Autodesk SDK, Word SDK, and Autodesk 3Dstudio.
Automated scheduling products, including the Planned Maintenance System (PMS)
scheduling project for the U.S. Navy (known as Sked). The product replaced the
paper system fleet wide in the U.S. Navy as of June 1995, and is currently the
only approved software by the Navy for maintenance scheduling. Development
included customizable data capture and output, reports, rich graphics display,
and advanced GUI controls. Developed using C, C++, Windows Platform SDK, MFC,
Visual Basic, Access, and ODBC.
The Advanced IETM effort to develop the next generation of user interfaces
for computer based documentation and training. A technician verbally
communicates with the system via speech recognition to troubleshoot equipment.
During the procedure, visual cues are received that have wire frame overlays
drawn onto an LCD inside see-through glasses worn by the technician. The
overlays match the pose of the equipment viewed in the real world. Windows NT,
Windows 3.1, Telios 3D Prism, and an SGI Indigo2 comprised the system.
Developed using C++, Windows Platform SDK, OpenGL, Open Inventor, and the HARK
Speech Recognition System.
The Metafile for Interactive Documents (MID) Standard, including the Data Type
Definition (DTD) and MID reader application example. The MID project involves
knowledge of military specification standards MIL-87268 and MIL-87269 for
IETMs, and the SGML and HyTime ISO standards, and attempts to improve markup

-1992: Frostburg State UniversityCS Symposium Coordinator CS Student Vice President Project Technical Lead
Organized and ran FSUs first ever computer science symposium featuring
demonstrations and lectures by representatives of academic and commercial
organizations, participated as a member and later Vice President of the only
active student-based computer science organization on campus, and lead the
design and development of an online child day care system that manages children
and classroom records, and day care center activities.
