Daryl DeKam has been in the accounting industry for more than twenty-
five years. A Partner in the Higher Education/Not-for-Profit/Governmental
Services Group of Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, LLP, he specializes in
serving colleges and universities, governmental entities, and not-for-profit
organizations. He has extensive experience in financial auditing and
accounting as well as providing a variety of financial consulting services.
Specific experience
Partner-in-charge of accounting and financial auditing engagements for
educational institutions, governmental entities, and not-for-profit
organizations.
Daryl serves as the engagement partner or preissue review partner for
more than 25 college and university clients annually.
Performs audits relied upon by the Office of the Legislative Auditor.
Provides 401(k) and 403(b) retirement plan audits for higher education and
not-for-profit clients.
Provides single audit services to various entities as required by various
governmental audit standards.
Provides audits of radio stations.
Consults with various entities on FASB, GASB, and OMB A-133 technical
issues.
Helps clients implement new accounting standards including most recently
FASB 157 (Fair Value Standards) and FSP 117-1 (UPMIFA).
Assists with bond and/or stock offering financing arrangements.
