I have also served as an online literacy expert numerous times for groups such as PBS, HarperCollins (with an
App in development), and WETA s Reading Rockets, where I currently write a blog, Connected: Literacy for
Generation Z (www.readingrockets.org/blogs/digitallit). I ve been featured and/or quoted in publications such
as Christian Science Monitor, Appian, Boston Globe, and Harvard Gazette. Currently I m writing a screenplay.

I ve given many invited and contributed talks at national and international conferences including: the South
African Children and Media Conference, the American Educational Research Association, the International
Reading Association, the National Reading Conference, an International Educational Technology Group in
Paris, The National Educational Computing Conference, and many talks at Harvard University, including talks for

Recently I gave a keynote speech for Little Sprouts about vocabulary development in early childhood and how
technology can help.
