CPI/LSS Master Black Belt Facilitator and Mentor

My PASSION is to help organizations implement a Continuous Process Improvement (CPI)

Culture, improving their bottom line and developing a teamwork atmosphere. I have been

Facilitating Process Improvement teams and teaching Process Improvement techniques since

1992. I was the first Transformation Chief at Ogden ALC and established the first Air Force

Lean training and certification process. I was the only Active Duty member of a team of CPI

experts to publish the DoD CPI Guide in 2005. I have been a Guest Speaker at Lean

conferences, and have conducted training for Military 4-star Generals and their staffs as well

as teams of workers at every level of an organization. I am a retired AF Colonel with 35 years

experience in Operations, Logistics and CPI. I co-authored a book with my son Michael,

titled Implementing a CPI Culture in June 2008.

PROCESS IMPROVEMENT EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

- 1992-2001: Trained and facilitated TQM efforts for the USAF Reserves

- AUG 2002: Stood up First Air Force Logistics Center Transformation Office

- OCT 2002: Lean Training from Lockheed Martin Aerospace

- JAN 2003-2005: Lean Facilitator Instructor/Coach/Mentor for the USAF

- FEB 2003: Lean training from Mainstream LLC

- MAY 2003/2004: Lean Symposiums in Robins GA., Guest Speaker in 2004

- AUG 2003: Lean Facilitator Training from Lean Aerospace Initiative (LAI)

- Built first AF Green Belt Lean Facilitator course with LAI

- OCT 2003/2004: Participated in Partners in Business, Excellence in Lean

- FEB-NOV 2005: Participated on the DoD Process Improvement team to assess

service Process Improvement efforts and write the DoD CPI Guide

- DEC 2005-Feb 2007 Was the primary Manager and Master Black Belt for a

base-wide effort to make Pope AFB, NC a self sufficient CPI Organization.

- FEB 2007 Results: Pope AFB has 23 Level 1 and 4 Level 2 Facilitators and was

self-sufficient in conducting CPI activities across the wing/base

- AFSO 21 Certified MBB to teach Standard AF Level 1 Facilitator course

- Certified MBB to Mentor/Certify AF Facilitators as Level one/two Facilitators

- Jan-Jul 2007 Mentor for University of Tenn. Wave 2 MPM training( AF Level 2)

- Continually support/influence AFSO 21 Leadership to Implement CPI AF-Wide

- Weber State University Adjunct Faculty member to provide CPI Courses/events

- Worked with HEXCEL Corporation in SLC to perform CPI Events Nov 07

- Co-Authored a Book titled Implementing a CPI Culture in Jun 2008

Education: - BS in Mathematics, Ops Research from the United States Air Force Academy

- MBA from Golden Gate University

Experience: Spent 35 years in the Air Force, retiring in 2005 as a Full Colonel.

- Spent 25 Years flying Jet Fighters: T-38, F-111, F-16

- Spent 1998-2002 As the Deputy Director of the Ogden ALC F-16 SPO managing

Logistics for the world-wide users of F-16 Fighters.

- Spent 2002-2007 Consulting for DoD on Implementing CPI in the Military

- Presently own a Consulting Firm, M2M CPI LLC to help organizations Implement

CPI Cultures and improve processes across their companies
