Invensys Home Control Systems
April 2001- Present
Home Control Gateway
System Analyst and Programmer
.
Invensys Home Control Systems is one of the solution providers for the home
appliance industry. The product is part of the Home Automation Solution
developed by Invensys Controls. The product is a Motorola MPC860T processor
based board.
My role is to understand the OSGi concepts and learn how to write bundles using
Sun's JES. The bundles are developed using Java and XML. The bundles are based
on the protocol set by the partners of the Monitoring project for the Home
Appliances. Some part of the protocol is in the form of xml messages. Also I
developed the user interface for installing the bundles on the Motorola MPC860T
processor board and verify whether the setup made by the technician is correct.
Developed some new components, which is not available with the standard swing
components. The project involves Socket programming, Threads, JNI calls to the
APIs of the native OS and developing xml messages.

(Global Service Ambassador)
Systems Analyst andamp; Designer
The project involves developing web pages for the GSA business of the DCM
Technologies. The modules are Request for Persons, Visa Processing and GSA
Details. The module Request for Persons involves searching the database based
on the request from the client, selecting the eligible candidates and
authorizing the request. The Visa Processing module involves getting the visa
inputs from the candidates, updating the visa status, request for transfer to
US and transfer to India. The GSA Details module involves the filling the GSA
Summary, GSA Personal Data Sheet and GSA Feedback. Each of these modules has
various reports used for the business analysis.
Designed and developed as a Java application for the consulting business of DCM
Technologies using UML, EJB, JDK1.2.2, Java Servlets, JDBC, SQL Server 7.0,
WebLogic Server 5.1. UML was used to make the Object Oriented Design with
System Architect. Enterprise Java Beans were used to implement the application.
Session beans were used to maintain the Work-Flow and Business Process, and
Entity Beans were used to maintain the Object-Oriented view of persistent data.
XML was used to develop the deployment descriptor. Web Logic Server 5.1 was
used to deploy EJB and Java Servlets.
Involved in making of CRS and the design using the UML with System Architect,
implementation of the package using Java Servlets, EJB, XML and preparing
functional Test Plans for the package and executing it to double check with the
Requirement Specifications.

Quality Assurance Application - Planning Database
Application Developer
This package generates the reports in the form of HTML pages of the projects
done in DCM Technologies on different areas. This project is mainly concerned
with the data of the previous projects done in the organization for the
software quality assurance. The past data, that is, stored in the database is
retrieved and displayed as reports that are needed by the project managers and
project leaders to make estimation for the current project. The reports are
plan reports, defect reports and general documents. The plan reports are
planning summary reports, project-wise plan reports and project characteristics
reports. The defect reports are defect summary report and project-wise defect
report. The general documents are CRS and PMP of the projects selected.
Involved in making of CRS, implementation of the package using Java Servlets,
preparing unit test plans from the design, making functional Test Plans for the
package from Requirement Specifications and deployed using Java Web Server 2.0.

DENSO II andamp; III, Automobile Engine Control Unit
Application Developer, Sr. QA Tester
The project involves coding and testing a 32-bit version of an engine control
program for use by a Japanese Automobile Manufacturing Giant. The aim is to
implement the design and make unit test plans for the white box testing and
write the driver programs in C to test various modules of the engine control
unit. The specification and overall design of each module is sent by the
customer for coding and testing. The modules are tested as per the software
quality set by the customer. The modules are implemented, tested, reviewed and
delivered within the deadline of the customer.
My role involves implementing and making unit test plans for white box testing
of the module and execution of the same to check whether the coding is done
according to the design and specifications provided by the customer. I used
Green Hills C Compiler and multi debugger for the white box testing which
include the code coverage tool used to check the C1 (100%) coverage. I was
involved in reviewing of test plans made by the peer developers.
Tools: Windows 95, Green Hills Tool Kit (Green Hills C Compiler and Multi
Debugger), Unit Testing, - White Box Testing, Create Test Plans, Create test
driver programs, Execute every test case. Testing Drivers using Driver
