Objective: To obtain employment as a highly experienced Registered Nurse or novice Family Practice Nurse Practitioner; Self motivating and willing to learn.

To whom it may concern:

I am interested in being considered for a rewarding Registered Nurse or Family Practitioner position. I am currently a recent Family Nurse Practitioner graduate from LSUHSC School of Nursing (May 2012) with a successful pass on the AANP certification exam. I also have over 18 years of professional registered nurse experience including employment at a level 1 Trauma Center and with 14 years in a supervisory role. I would like to join you and your team in providing top notched patient care to your patient population

I have completed over 600 hours of clinical in the family practice arena covering a vast majority of patient clinic settings. The vast majority of the disease processes I encountered during my last semester were Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertension, and Hyperlipidemia in the adult, uninsured population. My expertise also includes over sixteen years of labor and delivery, postpartum, and ante partum nursing care including both the low and high risk populations with a large proportion of care to the adolescent and young adult population. This area also included circulating for surgical cases and well as caring for patients in PACU. Clinical skills also included collaborations with nursery and NICU nursing. I was the unit supervisor in the above stated areas for greater than ten continuous years. My last two years of nursing prior to NP graduation included med-surgical nursing caring for the sickest of patients in the greater New Orleans area at the city's Charity Hospital including but not limited to: orthopedics, stroke/rehab care as well as GYN/oncology, GU, and GI care (in addition to general medical surgical nursing).

Having had the experience working with both the insured as well as the indigent gives me an advantage of knowing the working elements of most clientele. My professional and academic background, along with my continued interest in educating and helping others especially our very young and our very old, has enhanced my sensitivity and prepared me to serve a diverse range of cultures. I have also served as a youth counselor at church serving as mentor and role model to young and at-risk adolescents.

I have enclosed my resume for your review and feel that I would be an asset to your company. I look forward to the opportunity to elaborate further any questions or concerns that you might have and look forward to interviewing with you. Thank you in advance for your consideration.

Kenya Knox Lewis
