Engineering Manager / Systems Analyst Manager
Internet Security Systems is the leading provider of total information security
management for networks, servers, applications and desktops. My position is in
MSS Product Development on the SAFEsuite MSP product that enables ISS to manage
security devices to extreme scalability and provide customers access to all
their security information real-time over a web portal.
Responsibilities:
Promoted from System Analyst to Engineering Manager responsible for the
Quality Assurance, Documentation, Installation, and Systems Administration
departments for the entire software project. Managed a team of 5 people,
including reviews, project plans, and implementation.
Maintained timeline goals after a 50 ut in staff one third of the way into
the project.
Designed a lab that accurately simulated real MSP network environments with
hundreds of customers and thousands of security devices.
Wrote and maintained all installation and packaging code for upgrades and
initial installation.
Implemented Large Scale Security Management (several thousand security
devices, widely dispersed) encompassing policy management, real-time
monitoring, incident response and forensics analysis.
Technical Environment:
Adept in many security platforms including Checkpoint Firewall 4.x-NG,
Checkpoint Provider-1, ISS RealSecure 3.3-6.5, ISS Internet Scanner 6.x, RSA
Ace/Server 3.x-5.x, Cisco PIX 5.23-6.1 and IOS 12.x, Watchguard WEP 2.x-3.x and
Firebox II, Netscreen 5, TrendMicro Anti-Virus, WebSense Enterprise filtering
server, ISS RealSecure CLI, BlackIce Defender, UCD-snmp v4, Stronghold v3
Secure Apache, Solstice Volume manager PKI and Single Sign-On solutions and SSL
encryption technology.
Designed and documented large-scale storage solution (1 Terabyte+) for device
logs. Including data recovery, backup strategy, and performance criteria.
Project Highlights
Designed, setup and maintained development environment to simulate ISS's large
scale MSP Security Operations Center. This encompassed over 60 devices over 4
class C networks with one site in Atlanta.

Application Specialist II /Sr. Unix Administrator
Worked as a full-time Unix Administrator for the College of Engineering. The
position is required to maintain all Unix Platforms in the college including
labs, servers and research machines.
Responsibilities:
Maintained multiple Unix Lab environments of Sun Ultra and Sparc workstations,
and 6 Sun Servers in addition to over 60 research Sun machines, including
negotiating purchases and installation of upgrades and new equipment.
Managed a 300 0ncrease of disk space usage over a single semester with no
failures or downtime and developed support policy for multiple instructional
labs including the hiring, training, and management of a staff of students
Technical Environment:
Three labs of Sun Workstations ranging from Sparc 1s to Ultra 1s, 6 large
servers for mail, central data storage, and massive parallel processing
centers. Over 60 other Sun platforms for professors and research centers.
Servicing 4000+ users with mail, data storage, web hosting, and processing
centers.
Sun hardware from Sun 3/50 through the Sun Enterprise 450 lines. Responsible
for all hardware as well as software support.
Project Highlights
Developed and maintained Unix security policies for the College of Engineering,
including incident response, forensic analysis, security solutions and
cooperating with law enforcement at the local and federal level
