Career Highlights

In 2009 I designed and developed a screen-scraper for an international price-comparison website. This screen-scraper automatically retrieves thousands of data from over 30 websites each morning and reports any errors to the development team. Data is then validated and stored on a database to be used by a web application when performing live price calculations. This screen scraper was built using Ruby and the most up-to-date open-source technologies available at the time.

In 2009 I developed a Ruby Gem named FactoryGrabber which improves Unit-Testing speed. The gem is designed to work with FactoryGirl (a popular testing Gem) and provides an intuitive, "intelligent" syntax to find or create required records.

In 2009 I developed a Rails Plugin named MP3Player for playing MP3s online. This plugin is still very popular amongst Rails Developers who need a quick and easy solution to streaming music on their application.

In 2009 I had an article published in the Rails Magazine. The article discusses protecting your web application from malicious users using some of Rails's built in features.
