Tactical Telesolutions, San Francisco, http://www.tts-sf.com
Senior database administrator / Programmer Analyst
Primary responsibilities:
Administration of two Informix Online database servers (Linux); creating and supporting
enterprise-wide database applications. Defining MIS strategy and tactical goals in
database development. Defining backup/restore strategies. Optimization the databases.
Tuning the server performance parameters. Administration of 2 Linux file servers and over
40 Linux workstations.
Project: Corporate Telemarketing Database "Scriptor"
Developed an enterprise-wide database, including triggers, stored procedures, user
priviliges etc) on MS SQL Server on Windows NT platform. The database has a dynamic
structure controlled by the project managers. Multiple projects, stored in the same
database, use different field structure for every project yet share the same tables and
the same reports. Configured the database drivers to work with ASP on MS IIS. Due the
performance issues migrated the whole database on Informix DS server on Linux platform.
Configured database drivers and PHP to work with Apache under Linux. Completed several
software projects on telemarketing databases and reporting. Created report generator and
report editor based on the SQL query trees to populate reports as Excel spreadsheet and
Web reports as well (using C++ CGI). Developed the client-server set of applications to
create and populate a telemarketing scripts and to support the telemarketing process. This
set of the applications is installed on every computer in the company, including the top
management level. The applications are database-driven so the structure of application
screen, dialogs, etc.. is defined by the project structure. Created a mail robot to send a
massive emails/faxes out and automate the incoming e-mail processing. It allows to process
the incoming mail messages with the user-defined stored procedures. Used a Unix/Windows
cross-platform technology to develop highly portable C++ programs. Created the e-mail
based error notification subsystem to report about any error in client/server applications
or PHP applications to deliver error messages into support personnel.
Project: Corporate Linux workstation
Developed the corporate Gentoo Linux workstation structure, including the set of the
applications, and automatic installation scripts. Implemented automatic updates delivery
and installation. The result is one installation image for every workstation in the
company, with fast image unroll technology.
Project: Open-Source Cross-Platform C++ Toolkit "SPTK"
Developed cross-platform C++ toolkit for GUI development. The class library is available
as a source code distribution of any version since 0.9, and through dedicated CVS server.
Includes the HTML class documentation. Currently in version 2.0 beta. Supports Solaris,
Linux, Win32. See http://www.sptk.net for more information.
Project: Open-Source Cross-Platform C++ Database Tools "SPDB"
Developed cross-platform C++ toolkit for database applications development. The class
library is available as a source code distribution of any version since 0.95, and through
dedicated CVS server. Includes the complete class documentation in HTML. Currently is a
part of SPTK project. Supports Solaris, Linux, OSX, Win32. See http://www.sptk.net for
more information.
