This in-house project is being executed for the Quality Management Group of DSQ Software

Limited. The transaction system and the warehouse are both hosted on Windows NT servers

using SQL Server 7.0 and Oracle 8 respectively and COGNOS tools are used to develop user

interfaces.

As a Systems Analyst, was responsible for the following:

i Designing and developing the Data Mart

for Quality Management Group

i The source system was studied in detail and extraction methodologies were designed

i The user requirement analysis was studied and evaluated, appropriate data model was

designed using Platinum Erwin 3.5.

i The Star OLAP schema was designed using Platinum Erwin 3.5

i COGNOS tools are used to develop user interfaces

i SQL Server Data transformation services was used to extract data from the source

system

i Aggregate tables are built to improve query performance

i Reports include Project Status Tracking, Defect analysis and Phase wise Effort, etc

i The catalog has been configured according to the database and the basic reporting has

been done by Impromptu Reporter

NT. The subject areas for the Data Mart are Project details, Employee details, Employee

i Designing and developing the Data Mart for Resource Management Group

i The source system was studied in detail and extraction methodologies were designed.
