Overview
Mr. Armstrong is a skilled field and lab technician with 4 years experience
in cultural resource management and 9 years experience in educational
institutions, multinational companies, and small businesses.
Mr. Armstrong has extensive training and experience in archaeology in
general and cultural resource management (CRM) in particular. He is in
the final stages of completing an MA in anthropology a the University of
Areas of Expertise California, Santa Barbara, and has worked with both federal and state
Cultural Resource Management cultural resource management offices as well as gaining experience as a
Business field and laboratory technician and field supervisor for well-respected
CRM and environmental consulting firms. In addition, his own research

Garcia And Associates, Lompoc, CA June 2005. Field supervisor for
the excavation of a prehistoric site in Solvang. Also worked as a monitor
for construction on Vandenberg Air Force Base.
Student Conservation Association Internship, Vandenberg Air
Force Base, CA. 2004 2005. Assisted in the implementation of
National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) compliance measures,
monitored construction activity in sensitive areas, carried out surveillance
on threatened and sensitive historic and archaeological sites, reviewed
construction projects for NHPA compliance issues, reviewed contractor-
submitted environmental compliance documents, constructed databases
for managing cultural resource information on and around Vandenberg
Air Force Base.
Applied Earthworks, Lompoc, CA. 2003 2004. Lab and field tech,
working on sites on and materials from Vandenberg AFB and UC Santa
Barbara. Worked both as a full-time employee and, later, as a reserve field
tech when needed. Performed field excavation and construction
monitoring (including projects in the Goleta Slough area), lab processing,
and ichthyofaunal analysis.
