Hardware Engineer (December 2009 to March 2010)

Participated on the TSO (Technical Services Office) Field Power Engineering team responsible for determining power requirements/conditions/equipment for onsite and offsite locations, cooling and heating issues related to sensitive equipment, and ensuring the reliability of facility power and safety.

SOTECH (Special Operations Technology) Annapolis Junction, MD.

Systems Engineer (September 2006 to January 2009)

PCS in Afghanistan for 6 months (March 2008-September 2008)

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

Conducted sensitive operations in the modern joint global war environment with minimal supervision and support.

While in Afghanistan my key roles were setting up, configuring, loading and unloading equipment from the ground up. Transported equipment to and from different sites and cities, installing servers, routers, switches, muxes, racks, satellite dishes, and UPS (Uninterrupted Power Supply), constructing VSAT/Satellite dishes, installing Trango wireless microwave dishes, and running cables and fiber to and from dishes and equipment.

I received in depth training about configurations (servers, routers, and switches), surveying and sampling techniques (Sunrise/Sunset, Dolch, and ICE), fiber optic technology, wireless technologies (Wifi, Microwave systems, V-Sat, and components of GSM) and the integration of these systems. I also learned first hand about the operations side of large-scale projects and how much work, cooperation, and dedication is involved. I attended and briefed many high level government officials on our progress and future installations. I was fortunate enough to have worked with members of many government agencies and learn from their vast amount of experience and leadership.

Member of the SOTECH Law Enforcement Operations Division:

As a part of the S3 mission:

I attended weapons training in Titusville, Florida, provided by Stover and Associates at the National Police Hall of Fame.

I helped to provide our clientele with superior service in line with their ever-changing security and protection needs.

I participated in recruiting qualified guards in the industry. I helped in continuing education programs to provide the Guards with the most current technology and protection techniques available.

Aided in the continuous monitoring of national and international sociopolitical environments to develop our services in an efficient and relevant manner.

Other Roles and Responsibilities:

Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Analyst

Worked with the GIS team to develop GIS solutions to be used alongside SOTECH's proprietary system ISIS (Integrated Surveillance Intelligence System). This software is designed for mapping ISIS call activity in Google Earth (GE) with cooperative access from a GSM service provider necessary for installing ISIS. Additional network information such as Latitude, Longitude, and Cell ID of each tower was readily available.

Provided and coordinated complex research/data analysis, systems design, programming, and support of computer-based GIS/GPS (Geographic Information Systems/Global Positioning Systems) mapping and related statistical software.

Performed complex, integrated computer programming, data analysis, and software development for GIS applications, maintenance of existing systems and research/development for future enhancements.

Compiled and integrated cartographic data from a wide variety of sources for inclusion in map manuscripts; created and edited geospatial data, using GPS and digitizing techniques.
