Fundamental research on gelled hypergolic propellants for space propulsion
Explored detailed physics and developed generalized correlations for breakup of
Newtonian and non-Newtonian liquid droplets using gradient and value based
re nements, with a volume-of- uid (VOF) approach.
Developed three-way coupling to model sprays with LES to incorporate the e ect of
nite particle size on the ow eld.

Numerically modeled electrolytic and thermal ignition of liquid ionic propellant,
hydroxylammonium nitrate (HAN), for micro-propulsion, using a constant pressure,
homogeneous reactor model.
