Role

Annotation and curation of proteins involved in human inflammatory responses.

Description

Curating the scientific literature related to immune response and integrins which ultimately builds up the signaling pathway in human beings.

Title

Plasma Proteome Database Creation

Annotation and Review of plasma proteins

Description

The Plasma Proteome project was initiated by HUPO, where plasma proteins were characterized and multiple peptides were identified.

Plasma Proteome Database Creation involved annotation of the above plasma proteins. Plasma Proteome Database is a web-based resource that contains a functional annotation of all these plasma proteins. The database can be accessed at

Title

Human Protein Reference Database (HPRD)

Client

NCBI

Software

XML, JAVA, ZOPE

Data-mining, Annotation and Curation of various proteins in

HPRD by intensive literature survey

Description

HPRD is an object database that integrates information relevant to the function of human proteins in health and diseases. Data pertaining to protein-protein Interactions, Post-translational modifications, Enzyme-substrate relationships were extracted from the literature. (www.hprd.org)

Title

Intra-cellular Signaling Pathways

Literature Survey, Annotation, Feeding information in Biopax format, drawing Genmap and Validation using PSI-MI format.

Description

This project studies the binding of Signaling Molecules (Enzymes and Hormones) with the receptors or substrates, with the aim of finding the genetic implication of the reaction. My role was the annotation of intermediate molecules and creation of the signaling pathway. Information was fed in Biopax format and genmap was generated. The entire pathway was validated using the PSI-MI format.

Title

Bioce

Client

Amity Resources (P) Ltd., Bio-Informatics Institute of India, Chennai

Software

HTML, PHP, C, Java and MySql

Guiding the software personnel to understand the Biological applications of the software and analyzing the reports and results with other software.

Description

This project deals with the Molecular Dynamics part of Drug Design. The aim of the project was to find a peptide with the desired amino acids having the least energy state for maximum stability. Bioce software, a freeware which provides a platform for simulation of molecules and joining amino acids to form peptides, was used. It allows calculation of energy states for various rotations.

Title

Protein – Ligand Database

Client

Amity Resources (P) Ltd., Bio-Informatics Institute of

Collecting data related to autoimmune diseases, isolating the target protein and analyzing the structure of protein using various Protein Analysis and Structure Prediction tools.

Description

This database contains the information of the target Proteins in Autoimmune diseases and their respective Ligands.

Other Projects:

Estimation of Vit ‘A’ and Vit ‘E’ levels through HPLC techniques during the Certificate Course at National Institute of Nutrition.

Myasthenia gravis, an autoimmune disease-this was the bio project under Bio-informatics course in which my task was to determine the active site and predict the structure of acetyl choline receptor which gets mainly affected inmyasthenia gravis and also to study the reasons for molecular mimicry

Transcription- As a computer project during my Bio-informatics course my task was to build an interface using PHP. The program for transcription was written using C language
