2009.9 Now Online-Video Advertising

Video advertisement insertion during online-video viewing process can be made more effective if the ads

inserted are relevant to the content of the video and the insertion points are less intrusive. I had did

researching on effective ways to measure the relevance between videos and the ads, and to detect suitable ads

insertion points.

2007.9 2009.7 Master thesis: Research on Image Scene Matching and Video Motion Analysis

Based on Local Invariant Image Features (In GUCAS)

I finished my master thesis in JDL (www.jdl.ac.cn), and the main contributions are:

An effective image scene matching method based on local invariant features. This method can be used

to match photos taken under the same scene and was published on ICPR2008.

Video camera motion analyzing method. The reliable motion information of keypoints are extracted

through a robust keypoint tracking method and the background motion is separated from the

foreground motion to generate a better estimation of the camera motion model. This work is submitted

to ICASSP 2010.

Fighting shot discrimination method for action movies. Foreground motion descriptors are extracted,

which describes the moving direction, velocity, angular velocity and acceleration of foreground

keypoints, and then SVM classifier is trained on the motion descriptors to discriminate fighting shots.

This work is submitted to the Jurnal of Computer Science and Technology.

2007.5-2007.8 Video Quality Assessment (In Microsoft Advanced Technology Center of Asia)

I worked as an intern in Microsoft ATC to research and develop a video quality assessment software module.

This work can give a video (including audio) a quality score based on its perception qualities such as video

frame clarity and audio noise extend.

2006.4-2006.7 Configuration Maintenance Framework (In SAP Labs China)

I worked as an intern in SAP Labs China to research and develop a configuration maintenance framework

which is based on Assumption based Truth Maintenance System and can produce optimal solutions to the

configuration conflicts between user defined rules.

2005.11 2006.6 Content Based Audio Searching (In Fudan University)

I had worked with Professor Guenole C.M. Silvestre from University College Dublin on the research of

content based audio searching. My mean contribution is audio fingerprint indexing.

WORK EXPERIENCES

2009.7-2009.8 Baidu (www.baidu.com) Image Search

Responsibility: Software Researcher and Developer

Develop a data management module which deals with data receiving, caching and transferring. This module

is deployed on all the image search severs and processes around 20T of data per day. Baidu is the biggest

web search engine (more users than Google) in China.
