PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
1986-Date Crime Laboratory Director, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. Administers a staff of 210
sworn and civilian personnel with an annual operating budget of approximately $16M. Scientific
Services Bureau is a modern full service crime laboratory providing forensic science services for
all agencies in Los Angeles County and consists of a photographic laboratory, polygraph section,
identification section, crime scene investigation section, questioned documents section, firearms
identification section and the full range of criminalistics, forensic biology/DNA, drug testing and
toxicology functions. The lab is accredited by ASCLD/LAB.
1969-1986 Worked in most sections of the crime laboratory and supervised the Physical Evidence and
Forensic Toxicology Sections. Duties included crime scene investgation, laboratory case work and
court testimony.
