* Nuclear Machinist Mate Nuclear-trained MMs perform duties in nuclear propulsion plants; operate reactor control, propulsion and power generation systems. This position requires technicians to work closely with specialists in the nuclear, technology, and engineering fields.
* Ship Superintendent: Responsible for coordination of nuclear services and maintenance for four submarines undergoing upkeep and dual media discharges. Intermediate level maintenance of ship, including logistic and repair support of two submarine squadrons, one cruiser/destroyer squadron and transient vessels.
EXPERIENCE
Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard Ship Superintendent 2009 to Present
* Lead ship superintendent on the Olympia Project. Coordinated production work between 17 different shops and managed a 4500 man-day budget.
* Operate as Auxiliary Security Force (ASF) personnel to augment base security personnel during contingencies, terrorist attacks, natural disasters, civil disturbances, exercises and special events that require heightened levels of security.
* Counsel Sailors in career decisions, help them explore and evaluate education, training, and career options.
* Work with Sailors in developing skills and assist them in applying proper job placements. Arrange aptitude and achievement tests; provide second career counseling for Sailors who are transitioning or retiring.
* Received 2 Navy Achievement Medals for uncommon commitment to the performance and completion of all of my duties.
* Responsible for safe plant operations including environmental compliance with the state of Hawaii and the EPA.
* Community Service Volunteer -- volunteered over 70 hours at local church, Command blood drive and Shipyard`s Robotics Program.
U.S. Navy Nuclear Power Plant Operator 2003 to 2009
* U S Navy Nuclear Power Plant Operator: machinist mate operator qualified and trained aboard the USS Albuquerque (SSN 706) and USS Pittsburg (SSN 720) as Engine Room Supervisor.
* Performed/supervised corrective and preventative maintenance actions and testing of propulsion plant systems during both shipyard overhaul and operational conditions.
* Inspected and verified pre-production materials, inspected final products and out-sourced products for Quality Assurance and system cleanliness controls resulting in 250% increase in shop proficiency.
* Skilled in the use of schematics, blueprints, technical manuals and test equipment to isolate and diagnose faults in the various systems.
* Performed calibration on a variety of high and low pressure instruments.
* Certified by the Navy for supervision of quality maintenance on all nuclear-grade, steam plant, oxygen and high-pressure air systems.
